Digital technologies continue to dominate industry technology portfolios in 2020. Advanced analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), internet of things (IoT), mobile computing, augmented & virtual reality, 3D printing, and blockchain are finding their way into organizations at an accelerated rate. Yet, many digital technology projects struggle to meet growing business expectations. Delays, cost overruns, and outright project failures are crippling efforts to adopt digital technologies that drive new revenue models or optimize costs. Obviously, company culture and business strategy play significant roles in establishing the foundation for digital technology project success. Beyond creating business support and advocacy, three mandatory investments are critical prerequisites to ensure the on-going success of digital initiatives. Technology governance & methods, data architecture, and interoperability are likely nowhere near the top of business priorities. Yet, investment in these key areas provides tangible benefits across all other digital efforts. In this session, we will discuss each of these investments, why it is essential, what it enables, how to discuss and present it, and how to incorporate it into your technology program and project portfolio.
This session provides the audience with the critical investments needed to establish the foundation for initial and sustained digital success.
